Colour is beautiful, isn’t it: colour screams joy! Colour is happiness. Colour is for people who love to express themselves, and I am so there for it. Being in amongst it all, whether it’s a festival style wedding in some fairy glen, or an intimate affair in the parlour of a stately home, or anything in between, that’s where I like to be. As a Newcastle wedding photographer who focuses on style and colour I want my photographs to reflect your own unique style and personality, and the colours you choose are a big part of that.
So much goes into the colour of a wedding day; from the bridesmaids’ dresses to the flowers, makeup, and décor, so I think it’s important to preserve all those choices.
Wedding Photography Without The Stress
I don’t know about you, but I’m not a big fan of posing. I always feel really awkward and I never know what to do with my hands. With that in mind, my style as a North East wedding photographer is geared toward people like me, because I get it! If it were me getting married I’d want to spend time with my family and friends, drink an espresso martini or two too many, and let my hair down. It’s nice to have a couple of perfect shots, but the memories we treasure the most are the ones that bring back that feeling of pure joy. You know what I mean: your father tearing up when he first saw you in your finery, your mum holding it together as you walked down the aisle, saying “I do”, the fun stuff, the games, the best man’s speech, the giggling with friends, and the bits that went a bit wrong.

Originally from Derbyshire, I moved to Newcastle upon Tyne in the late 90’s and have called it home ever since. I shot my first wedding in 2004 and became a full time wedding photographer in 2012. I’m one of those lucky people who love their job; doing what I do best in capturing those one-off authentic moments that make your day so special. I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings at some of the finest wedding venues across Newcastle, Northumberland and the North East.
So what else makes me tick? I love horror movies (including the bad ones… oh alright, especially the bad ones!), heavy metal, jazz, cooking, and Edwardian ghost stories. I also have a horde of friendly chickens that free range in my back garden and sneak into the house on occasion for treats.
