Hi there! I’m Erika. A wedding photographer covering County Durham and beyond since 2012.

I specialise in natural, reportage-style wedding photography.

Photography that focuses less on posing and more on capturing people as they truly are. The smiles, the jokes, the laughter, the tears, the vast myriad of emotion that makes up your real wedding day. This is where the memories that last a lifetime exist. Sure, there’s time for some posing and group shots, but my skills and ability and where my photography shines is in the hidden moments, the unscripted scenes. You know: life itself.

Everything about your wedding is personal: from the venue you choose, to the clothes you wear, the food you serve, and the favours you gift. So shouldn’t your photography be just as unique?

One of the things that I really pride myself on is that I can work at a venue multiple times and each time the pictures will be different. They’re different because the couples are different. This isn’t cookie-cutter, off the rack, photography: if you’re joyful, and loud, and outgoing then your pictures will be bold to reflect who you are. If you experience a quiet and tender moment then the photos are going to hold that mood too.

Durham is a beautiful place to get married - I’ve photographed hundreds of the weddings in the region. From the cosy manor House in Bishop Auckland, and the stately Beamish Hall to ancient Lumley Castle and one of my favorite venues: Wynyard Hall. I’ve also shot at the world famous Durham Castle and Durham Cathedral.
