ERIKA TANITH | PHOTOGRAPHER
Hi, I’m Erika. Originally hailing from Derbyshire, I then moved “up North” for university, and liked the place so much that I decided to stick around. When I was younger I loved the vibrant city life in Newcastle, and now I enjoy the wild outdoors and beautiful Northumbrian scenery. I like hiking and spending my free time in the countryside, whether it’s up mountains or along the coast, as long as I’m outside I’m happy.
I’m a very enthusiastic person, if I like something I have a tendency to REALLY like it. There are plenty of things on that list; bad horror movies, pet chickens, mixing cocktails, heavy metal, running, and photography.
Photography is top of the list really, I like it a lot. So much in fact that I decided to make it my job. Being a North East wedding photographer you could say is my dream job.
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME…
After my other half, the biggest love of my life is my pet chickens. We started with three, back in 2016, and since then they've multiplied into a wide array of adorable floofs from rare breeds to battery rescue hens. These tiny monsters convinced me to go vegan, and that's filtered through into my work as well. You can blame them for the 100% vegan albums on offer, and the eco-friendly companies that I work with.
As a vegan wedding photographer I aim for an ethical, sustainable & eco-friendly approach, and to reduce my carbon footprint where possible. I try to communicate digitally as much as I can, use email, video calls, and digital download where possible. USBs and boxes are made from natural materials, which has the added bonus of being far prettier than plastic too.
It should go without saying but, for the record, I’m LGBTQIA+ friendly too. Love is love ❤️
TRAVELLING | NEW PEOPLE, NEW PLACES
I’ve always loved to travel. I spent a year in the misty days of my youth travelling through Asia, seeing some beautiful sights and meeting some great people. And I still try and get to see as much of the world as I can, in between shoots and weddings.
My love of seeing new places and meeting new people is the perfect fit for my job as a photographer.
