Le Petit Chateau Wedding Photography - Daisy & Sam

Le Petit Chateau Winter Wedding Photography

Le Petit Chateau is a beautiful French-style chateau located in the heart of Northumberland. It is the perfect setting for a winter wedding, with its stunning snow-covered gardens and cosy interiors.

Daisy & Sam, chose to have their wedding in December, but you can never guarantee the weather in Northumberland and it ended up being the most stunningly perfect winter day. They wanted a simple and elegant ceremony, and Le Petit Chateau was the perfect place to achieve their vision.

The ceremony took place in the chateau's chapel, which was decorated with simple festive greenery and candles. The bride wore a stunning white gown, and the groom looked handsome in his blue suit. All wedding ceremonies are emotionally charged, but there was an extra edge throughout Daisy & Sam’s day because Daisy had lost her brother. He may not have been there in person, but he was certainly there in spirit. His portrait was on Daisy’s bouquet, and his presence was certainly felt throughout the wedding which made it all very special indeed.

After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed a cocktail reception, canapés, and the talents of magician Paul Lytton. One of the great perks of my job is being able to enjoy so many talented individuals and the North East really is awash with amazing artists, musicians, magicians, and entertainers.

We took photos outside in the snow, with the afternoon light giving us perfect portrait conditions, even if it was -5 Celsius. Not that that bothered us Northerners, because it was quite dry, and Daisy didn’t seem to notice the cold at all, even in her sandals! Now that’s what I call a proper Northern lass. The southerners stayed by the firepits.

After dinner, there were speeches by Daisy and her mother (love it when the lasses speak!), Sam, and all of his groomsmen. There was a toast of Strongbow Dark Fruits which had been Daisy’s brother’s favourite drink and a lovely reminder of what a wonderful person he was.

Then the guests enjoyed a little relaxation before the reception kicked in. And kick in it did - it rocked. There was no formal first dance just a call for everyone to get their groove on on the dancefloor.

It was a magical day that the couple and their guests will never forget. I am very thankful to have been a part of it.

Everyone had a wonderful time at the winter wedding at Le Petit Chateau. It was a fantastic day that they will cherish forever.

If you are also planning a winter wedding, here are a few tips to help you get started:

  • Choose a venue that is well-suited for winter weather. Le Petit Chateau is a great option, as it has a beautiful indoor space that can be used in case of bad weather.

  • Consider the time of day for your wedding. The sun sets very early here in the North, and we lose the light quickly.

  • Dress warmly! The weather can be cold in winter, so make sure you and your guests are dressed appropriately.

  • Have a backup plan in case of bad weather. If it snows or rains, you may need to move your ceremony or reception indoors.

With a little planning, you can have a beautiful and memorable winter wedding.
