Healey Barn Wedding Photography – Natalie & Chris
Nat and Chris were a little worried on the run up to their wedding because of the unseasonal snow. Of course, it being England, the snow was naturally followed by flooding and fog. But the old adage ‘it’ll be alright on the night’ came through. After a chilly start the sun came out, the fog lifted and the day was glorious.
Not that it would have mattered if it hadn’t. A good stylish fog can create some incredible wedding photographs. I’m a big fan of some moody fog.
The morning at Slaley Hall was chilly and snowy, and right up to the ceremony itself the fog was heavy and atmospheric. The wedding ceremony was held at Healey Barn. It’s a beautiful venue, and was perfect for such an upbeat and happy couple. After the “I do’s” however, it was as though the sun had been on order. There was stunning sunshine whilst the formal photographs were completed around the wilds of Northumberland.
Back inside the barn the bridesmaids had prepared a fantastic poem for the bride. Apparently it’s tradition amongst them that they invent and read a doggerel to celebrate (and embarrass) whichever of the group is getting married. It was very sweet and certainly gave the rest of the speakers: the mother of the bride, the groom, and the two best men, a lot to live up to!
After food Nat and Chris had some celebratory sparklers, the cake cutting, and first dance with a wonderful band that got everyone on their feet. It’s such a good room for a party. If you’re looking for a place to rock out this certainly fits the bill.
It was a fantastic wedding and one that I am very pleased to have been a part of. Congratulations Nat and Chris, it’s been a pleasure x
